TBA

Art of Music Festival is an annual 3 day Festival the first weekend of December in Lake Junaluska featuring some of the top bluegrass and acoustic musicians in the nation as well as musical workshops, instrument showcases and more.

Haywood County is home to Balsam Range, 2018 IBMA Entertainer of the Year recipients, who launched the Art of Music Festival at Lake Junaluska in December of 2016. The two day festival has already seen the likes of Bryan Sutton, Flatt Lonesome (2016 IBMA Vocal Group of the Year), The Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Darrell Scott, Mike Sutton, and Whitewater Bluegrass Co.

Balsam Range is so fond of where they are from they often talk about it on the road at different concerts and events, peaking interest among their fans to see just what all Haywood County has to offer. With the Festival growing rapid interest among bluegrass and acoustic fans there has been talk to expand the festival beyond 3 days offering more master class instrument workshops, dancing lessons and more. We will keep you updated right here!

While in town for the festival, take advantage of exploring what Haywood County and Western North Carolina have to offer.  Whether hiking, biking and wildlife viewing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park,  snow skiing at area resorts, or hand picking your family’s Christmas Tree from the surrounding tree farms, Haywood County has something for everyone!  There are plenty of indoor adventures as well such as touring the Biltmore Estate in nearby Asheville, or shopping in the quaint downtown area of Waynesville.

If you choose to never leave the festival or Lake Junaluska properties, there will be plenty of great activities and opportunities going on!  With warm and inviting lodging option packages on the grounds of the Conference and Retreat Center, there will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with artists and other like-minded individuals.  Jamming is always a fun and an important aspect of any music festival. The festival facilities are ideal for supporting areas for such gatherings while preventing disturbances for those wishing to rest in the tranquil beauty that the surroundings offer.
