2018 Wedding Color Inspiration

Half the fun of planning your dream day is picking out the colors that will compliment and represent you. Incorporating your selected colors can be done in a variety of ways from bouquets to wedding party apparel. If you’re looking for color inspiration for your wedding this year look around Haywood County which is full of lush florals, mountain hues, sunset colors and vibrant blooms. Selecting a venue that compliments your color scheme may help such as a casual rustic outdoor scene or a formal stone cathedral.

Pulling color inspiration from the surrounding mountains and Spring blooms we’ve partnered with The Black Tux, a rental service that sends your tux or suit to you, to create 3 color combos perfect for 2018 weddings. We’ve also listed venue suggestions based on what venues and reception sites would compliment these colors.

1. Navy & Marsala

Navy and Marsala wedding colors

The Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina earned their name from the blue hue they appear to be from a distance. This blue is attributed to the trees which release isoprene into the atmosphere contributing to the characteristic haze on the mountains and their distinctive color. Trust us, blue will look good on you! Navy suits are a dashing option with marsala ties. These colors can easily be found in napkins, candles, and many other accent decoration options.

Venue Suggestions: Inn at Tranquility Farm, Grandview Lodge, Lake Junaluska

2. Olive & Black

Olive & Black Color scheme for wedding

This classic color scheme that looks especially wonderful incorporated into Winter weddings in the mountains. The pop of green hues compliment creme and ivory tones to bring in a feeling of nature and warmth without going all out bling with gold. Bridesmaids wearing muted olive tones would flatter a bride in an ivory dress. If your big day has a special snow you will stand out even more against the white backdrop. These hues can be hinted at in the bouquet, welcoming signs and plenty of floral around your venue. The olive branch is a symbol of peace and looks lovely when paired with blooms or pops of colors.

Venue suggestions: Reflections at the Pond, Cabin Among the Oaks, Laurel Ridge Country Club

2. Plum & Grey

Grey is the new black. North Carolina is home to many gorgeous Spring blooms and we love the hints of purple and mauve you could play around with for this combination. Adding a pop of color can be as muted or bold as you like depending on your style. Great with silver accents and paired with white flowers. You’ll be sure to look stunning with plum accents, maybe even a tie and plum heels? We’ll let you decide.

Venue suggestions: Fines Creek Farm, Chestnut Ridge, Majors Estate

No matter what colors you pick, we hope you have fun planning and enjoy celebrating the beginning of life with your soulmate! Happy planning!
