January

National Hot Tea Month

Steep in the luxurious mountain views and cozy comfort of Sippers in the Valley. Enjoy sipping Hot tea or a spiced chai to warm the soul. Stop by for a visit and a soothing cup of tranquili-tea.

February

National Chocolate Lover Month

Let’s be serious for a moment—every month should be chocolate lover’s month. But in case you need written proof, we’ve got you covered…chocolate covered. Pay a visit to Dillsboro Chocolate Factory for award-winning chocolates, truffles, fudge, and more. You’ll get lost in a cocoa coma.

March

National Flour Month

You might be wondering what this has to do with sweets, but without flour, we wouldn’t have some of our favorite desserts. Celebrate this underrated month with a fresh-baked cookie, cupcake, or cannoli from Wildflour Blue Bakery. Add another stop to the mix by visiting Farm to Cake Bakery for cakes, pies, and cheesecakes. Both of these shops allow customer orders for any celebration—flour month included. No matter what you choose, their baked goods will move you to tiers.

April

National Pecan Month

April is the month where it’s perfectly acceptable to go nuts about pecans. One of our favorite ways to enjoy them is baked in a warm buttery pecan pie. Roll on over to Haywood Smokehouse for a slice of their Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie. We are drooling just thinking about it.

May

National Strawberry Month

Nothing screams summer like ripe, red strawberries. Enjoy this flavorful fruit in hand-dipped ice cream, milkshakes, and sundaes at Jack the Dipper Ice Cream Parlor. They also specialize in their made-to-order warm waffle cones. One strawberry cheesecake cone for us, please!

June

National Candy Month

If you’re a sucker for candy, then June is the month for you. One of our favorite spots to stock up on our favorite treats is Jelly Bellies in Maggie Valley. Is one month too short of a celebration? No worries, they have over 365 types of candies—meaning you can have a different treat for every day of the entire year. That’s pretty sweet! Of course, they have the classic Jelly Belly™ Jelly Beans lined up across a whole wall of their store.

JULY

National Ice Cream Month

Cool off in the heat of the summer in the Smokies with some frozen treats for National Ice Cream Month. Take a pit stop at Maggie Valley Ice Cream for hand-dipped favorites like rocky road, mint chocolate chip, and black cherry. For some softer options, Log Cabin Frozen Treats is soft serving up ice cream, Italian ice, gelato, and frozen yogurt. You’ll melt for all these creamy choices.

August

National Peach month

The beautiful month of August truly has a special peach of our heart. One place to enjoy these juicy fruits is Kandi’s Cakes and Bake Shop. Enjoy hand-lattice topped peach pies and peach pastries that will make you feel all fuzzy inside. While you’re there check out their impressive assortment of cakes, cream horns, cookies, bars, and more. You’ll leave there feeling just peachy!

September

National Honey Month

Satisfy your sweet tooth in September with a drizzle of golden honey. The Copper Pot & Wooden Spoon is home to a delectable honey citrus marmalade—a perfect addition to any charcuterie board. With honey harvested in the mountains of Western NC balanced with the tang of fresh, seasonal citrus, this marmalade is the bees’ knees.

October

National Caramel & Dessert Month

Caramel AND Dessert month—that’s a batch made in heaven. Make the most of it at the Haywood 209 café where you can drool over their dessert case filled with cakes, cookies, and more. Your sweet dreams will crumb true.

November

National Peanut Butter Lovers Month

If you’re looking for creamy peanut butter treats with a bit of crunch, Cold Mountain Toffee is the place to go. They have a delicious spread of toffee flavors including peanut butter topped with almonds. You’re nut going to believe how tasty it is.

December

National Eggnog Month

The holiday season calls for some holiday flavors. December is National Eggnog Month and Panacea Coffee Co. has a way to enjoy it with a little twist. Snuggle up with their warm Eggnog and Chai—steamed together then topped with whip cream and nutmeg.
