These old mountains we love to explore will always provide space for the romantics to enjoy. Something about seeing the snow-speckled layers at sunset, feeling the warmth of a coffee through your mittens, or the comfort of your loved one locking arms with you while y’all stroll the small mountain town streets, all make the NC Smokies a wonderland of romance and date nights.

If you’re looking for romantic Valentine’s dinner reservations, check out these specials below that you will need to book ahead of time. And if you want a date with a view, consider grabbing a dinner-to-go from Kanini’s or any of Haywood’s amazing restaurants. We’ve also included some ways to #EmbraceUnusual with your partner this season.

Date Night Ideas

1. Pop-Up Photoshoot

Everyone looks better when a professional takes their photo! Surprise your love with a quick and easy photoshoot by @beforethefoundationsphotos at Orchard Coffee on February 12th.

2. Take-Out Meal with a View

With safety in mind this year, we know you may not want to eat indoors, so we also encourage you to #EmbraceUnusual and try out a new tradition for Vday. Grab a meal to go and head to Lake Junaluska for a picnic. Or if you’re up for a chilly outdoor adventure head up on the Blue Ridge Parkway by foot which is closed to winter traffic – just make sure to bring lots of warm layers and snuggly blankets. If you want an easy hike with a pretty view head to Soco Falls, you can even sit on the observation deck while you eat your treats.

3. Romantic Stroll

Winter lights are still strung about our cozy mountain towns and a stroll around the Main Streets may be the perfect excuse to let yourself have one more truffle!

4. Cheers with Beers

Head to Bearwaters Brewing in Maggie Valley or Canton, Frog Level Brewing or Boojum Brewing in Waynesville, or Elevated Mountain Distillery in Maggie Valley, and cheers to another year of love. You can also stop by Blue Ridge Beer Hub or Bosu’s Wine Shop to pick up bottles for your take-out date plans.
