Gateway to the Smokies Half Marathon
Runners start the race in downtown Waynesville, home to around 9,800 residents, at the corner of Main and Depot Streets. From there, they’ll head south along Main for the race’s first couple of miles, and and then follow a loop that circles the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa, where runners also hit the first hills of the course. Waynesville Businesses Open All Day! Live music and entertainment. Shops & restaurants open all day. Patriotic kid’s parade at 11 a.m. (ALL KIDS WELCOME.) Show up, sign up at 10 a.m. on the courthouse lawn. Ice cream for participants at the end of the parade, First Baptist Church. 11AM - 3PM

An annual holiday tradition held downtown.
