Friends of the Smokies is excited to announce the annual Classic Hike Series, offering monthly guided hikes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Classic Hikes of the Smokies series, starting its eighth year, offers a way to hike trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, learn about the history and ecology of the park, and to meet other hikers. Our farm located at the bank on the Pigeon River specializing in growing, propagating and selling the finest herbaceous, Intersectionals, Chinese tree peonies plants and fresh peony cut flowers. We are a Certified Appalachian Grown farm, and proud members of NC Agritourism. Our farm will be open to the public during the month of May, everyday from 10am to 4pm., its free and we are inviting all peony lovers to visit us during the month long celebration!    

88th Annual Ramp Festival

An afternoon celebration featuring live music, clogging, the festival highlights ramps. Ramps are a native wild onion, harvested in the spring from the mountainsides, that can be eaten raw or cooked. A true culinary delicacy celebrated for its pungent aroma and the bold flavor it brings to food. Come out to Waynesville for a full meal featuring ramps, crafts, variety of vendors, live music & more!

Rockin’ Block Party

Bring your dancing shoes and a chair and head to Main Street for an evening of live music featuring oldies and goldies, bluegrass, country rock, and more, music 7PM - 10PM “Kids on Main” children’s activities for our younger downtown visitors are held prior to the party from 6:00 -7:00. Eats and treats on the street and downtown restaurants are open. No animals allowed at downtown events.
