Adventure Traveler Itinerary: 

Day 1: 

– Start your adventure with a thrilling hike to the top of Cold Mountain. With its breathtaking views and challenging terrain, this iconic peak is a must for adrenaline junkies. 

– Afterward, head to Hwy 215 along the Pigeon River where you’ll find waterfalls galore surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Make sure to pull off at our favorite road-side waterfall, Sunburst Falls 

– End the day with a delicious meal at Bearwaters Brewing, where you can enjoy craft beer and share stories of your daring adventures. Check out their brand new location in Waynesville for axe-throwing, arcade games and more!

Day 2: 

– Gear up for a day of mountain biking at Chestnut Mountain Nature Park. With over 15 miles of trails, you’ll have plenty of options to satisfy your need for speed. 

– For a unique adventure, rent a UTV to cruise through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Explore the scenic trails and soak in the serenity of nature. 

– Relax and unwind in the evening with a stargazing session at Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Haywood County’s clear night skies offer the perfect backdrop for a peaceful end to your adventure-filled day. 

  

 

Laid-back Traveler Itinerary: 

Day 1: 

– Start your day with a leisurely stroll through Downtown Waynesville. Explore charming shops, art galleries, and cafes, and don’t forget to stop by the local farmers market for fresh produce and unique crafts. 

– Enjoy a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, stopping at overlooks to take in the breathtaking mountain vistas. Pack a picnic and find a peaceful spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of nature. 

– End your day with a delicious Appalachian-inspired dinner at Birchwood Hall. This charming restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and a menu filled with locally sourced ingredients.  

Day 2: 

– Spend the morning exploring the quaint town of Maggie Valley. Visit the Wheels Through Time Museum to admire vintage motorcycles. 

– Experience the slow pace of mountain life with a leisurely walk around Lake Junaluska and take in the serene surroundings – you may even see an eagle fly by.  

– Wrap up your laid-back day with a delicious farm-to-table dinner at Singletree Heritage Kitchen, where you can savor the fresh flavors of the region. 

   

 

Luxury Traveler Itinerary: 

Day 1: 

– Start your luxury getaway with a stay at one of our upscale resorts, The Swag. Enjoy world-class amenities, gourmet dining options, and breathtaking views. 

– Spend the day exploring the vibrant arts scene in Haywood County. Visit local art galleries and studios, where you can admire and purchase unique works of art from talented local artists.

– Beat the heat by taking a refreshing dip at Midnight Hole, a picturesque swimming spot nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The crystal-clear waters and scenic surroundings make it the perfect place for the whole family to cool off and make lasting memories. 

– End the day with a fun-filled evening at a local family-friendly attraction. From mini-golf to roller skating, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 

Day 2: 

– Spend the morning hiking Black Balsam Knob, where you see 360 degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Not long enough for you? Head down the parkway to Devil’s Courthouse for another short but steep hike to see 4 states in one spot! 

– Refuel at The Patio Bistro, where you can savor delicious soups and sandwiches and reminisce on all your mountain adventures.  

– After a day of outdoor adventures, treat the whole family to an evening of entertainment at HART Theatre. Enjoy a live performance of a musical, comedy show, or captivating play, showcasing the talent of local actors and artists.
